Width (Fits Opening): The stated dimensions represent the required gap between posts or walls. The measurements already accounts for the space needed by the latch and hinge hardware, so no additional allowances are necessary, we’ve already calculated everything for you.
Height Dimensions: This measurement is taken from the bottom of the gate to its highest point. However, it does not account for the necessary ground clearance. When installing, we generally recommend allowing a minimum gap of 50mm to ensure smooth operation. Fittings included: Comes with hinge angle brackets, bolts, wall mounted universal latch. (No screws or wall plugs included) Easily fixes to brickwork, metal or timber posts. Nuts and bolts must be painted after fitting to prevent the onset of rust.
What about a post, do I need one?
If no existing support structures are available such as a wall, then metal posts must be installed to secure the gate by its hinges and latch. Please ensure there is enough space to accommodate these components.
Example: A gate designed to fit a 2134mm opening will require a total gap width of 2274mm when using two 70mm posts: (2134mm + 70mm + 70mm, Total = 2274mm).
Ordering Sizes Information:
Width (Fits Opening): This dimension corresponds to the opening size you need between your brickwork or existing posts. We have already included the space required for the hinge and latch components within these measurements so no additional calculations are necessary.
Physical Height: This is the actual height of the product listed above, this measurement is taken from the underside of the gate to the highest point. No provision for ground clearance is included in this measurements.
